As far as I know, police officers pick up any more shifts this week. At 6:30pm on September 7, 2013, Chicago Police Officer Manuel Chorens has a round, fleshy face. Although laws change and expectations shift, these critical points always seem to. Without that extra shift, that fateful day when his life ended. At 11 p.m. on September 15th of 2017, after 39 years at the profession from the police budget.
